A non knitting friend, whose mother recently passed away has been giving me knitting stuff she finds among her mother's things.
The first load was a bag of needles. Then this wonderful, well worn counter...
Most recently, this blast from the past...
Containing this...
Phentex for the slippers of yore, What with being a "hot new" colour and a "vintage" yarn I'd better pass it on to a fashion concious someone who will appreciate it more than I.

The enclosed sales receipt is dated New Years Eve 1985.

Squeek!
Lol....that last picture and "squeek" made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteThat counter sure is interesting. I've never seen anything like it.
That's a neat row counter. Love the vintageness of it. Hang onto that one!
ReplyDeleteGaaaaaahhhhh- NOT Phentex!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHee Hee Hee. I hope you expressed appropriate amounts of gratitude.
ReplyDeleteThe row counter must pre-date pen and paper.
AAAAHHHHHHH, get thee Phentex away! That stuff along with cockroaches will survive the apocalypse...
ReplyDeleteWell the row counter IS fair trade for having to deal with the phentex I suppose. They say there is a good use for every yarn, but the question is, just what is this? (My bias is showing)
